The meanings of most of my personal work come to me AFTER I finish them....the whole process before that is exploring, and trying to 'find' something within the chaos.
So in this piece, the female character appears to be separating from the dominant male figure..he seems too uptight, so good for her!

My main inspiration for this is Andrew Jones and his mastery over creating something beautiful out of something completely chaotic.
So this image is just that; a persistent desire to create, even if the mind is at the same time very unwilling to do it... Talk about a conflict of interest!
The whole idea behind this piece is about how thoughts overtake, they pull at you, or push you. And new thoughts are constantly being created, which explains the zygote like creature in the middle, that's a baby thought And so I think it's up to us how our thoughts 'grow up', will they become good or bad ones?

I love in films when you can't tell which side the character is on. That is what I tried to convey here; is this guy good or bad...who knows??! The title is a kinda 'calm before the storm' thing, in which there might seem like peace before an enraging battle. In which case, you'd really want this guy on your side!

This is a revised version of an earlier piece I had put up. It was inspired by Christian Scheurer, one of my favorite concept artists. I used a lot of photo scrap as you can see, I was going for a matte sketch here. I wanted to show not only contrast of scale with the pyramids and the larger structures, but also a contrast in different styles of construction, ancient and futuristic.
I've tried to imagine what a flying hotel would look like, so here it is..Everything is pretty much 'built' from misc. phot scrap. It's like going into a junkyard and picking interesting things, then gluing them all together..

I wanted it to have this twisted Tim Buton/Sci-Fi feeling, somewhat comical yet amazing, and of course I felt I needed to add a human element, the girl at the bottom.
This is my tightest illustration so far, most never get to this level...yet!!
